Until 2004, it was the most requested Metallica song ever. It got to the point
where the band would cringe
when they heard the name of the song.
Thanks to Rob reportedly convincing James, they finally premiered it on March 5th,
2004 - 16 years after it
was released!
The song is about James' childhood. His parents were extremely religious
and prevented him from experiencing
many things,
and he seems to have written about it in this song.
Many people claimed for a long time that Metallica never played the song
because it was too fast or too hard.
James poked fun at this when they played it on 4/21/04, saying "No, we can't
play that! It's too fast and too hard!"
Included in the video game Guitar Hero: Metallica and can be exported to GH: Warriors Of Rock. It is easily one of the most challenging songs to play on guitar, bass, and drums.
